Selous Game Reserve
The Selous Game Reserve is one of the largest of its type in the world, covering 21,000 square miles of pristine wilderness. The reserve was designated a UNESCO world heritage site because of its diversity of wildlife and undisturbed wilderness. The park is not accessible during the rainy season, and the lodges and camps close from March to June. Selous Game Reserve is known for its big elephant herds, walking safaris, and wilderness.
