Nestled along the edge of a seaside cliff, overlooking Camps Bay, Cape View Clifton is one of Cape Town’s most charming bed and breakfast boutique hotels. With only five suites – each of which has stunning views of the ocean – guests can relax in complete luxury while enjoying some of the hotel’s lavish amenities.

When guests are not relaxing by the main pool, overlooking the vast bay, or enjoying a sensational breakfast in the hotel’s charming dining room, they can explore the internationally acclaimed city of Cape Town, take a walk to the beach, or delight in sensational cuisine and entertainment in Camps Bay.

One of the things I love most about Cape View Clifton is their personalized service and highly accommodating staff. As you arrive at the hotel, which is located on Cape Town’s famous Kloof Road, the staff greets you and welcomes you into their lavish, yet highly comfortable boutique guesthouse. The interior is super bright and white, which immediately provides a sense of relaxation and freshness.

The staff provides a detailed tour to the main areas, which include the curio shop, pool, main deck, and breakfast dining room. They then show you to your room and provide you with details on what you can expect during your stay.

The concierge is exceptional and is available to assist with activities, reservation bookings, and car services. Housekeeping tends to your suite each day and a wonderful duo of chefs prepare breakfast each morning for you to enjoy in the hotel’s contemporary dining room.

Guests can arrive between 7am and 10am for breakfast and enjoy a beautiful assortment of meats, cheeses, yogurts, cereals, pastries, and beverages. The chefs work in an open kitchen and prepare fresh the hot breakfast of the day, which can include omelets stuffed with locally sourced ingredients, breakfast sandwiches, eggs benedict, and more. You truly feel like you are a welcomed guest in someone’s home when you are at Cape View Clifton!

It’s also important to note that Cape View Clifton is more of a self-service property and there is no full-service lounge or bar area. If you wish to get a drink or snack during your stay, the kitchen is always open. All you have to do is write down on a form what you took and at the end of your stay, the snacks and drinks will be tallied up and added to your bill.

Also, for lunch and dinner, you will need to venture outside of the property – which is such a great way to explore Cape Town, Camps Bay, and the surrounding areas! Taxis are easy to come by and affordable for getting to the city center and Camps Bay – the concierge can even assist with arranging a car service for you if you wish.

While visiting Cape View Clifton on my honeymoon, we ventured into Camps Bay for both our dinners, which were incredible! We ate at The Grand and Paranga – both of which are located on the water and provide both indoor and outdoor seating. The cuisine and service were exceptional at both restaurants!
