I always enjoy telling people that I’m on the Hills of Africa Travel team and that we plan life-changing African safari vacations for discerning travelers. People get all excited and some tell me Africa is on their bucket list and it has been a lifelong dream to travel to such an exotic and inspirational destination.

Although I have not YET had the invaluable opportunity to “live the magic of Africa,” I have the pleasure of connecting with our clients after they have traveled, which gives me the opportunity to live vicariously through each of them! It’s such a rewarding experience to be able to connect with each of our clients after they’ve arrived home and get a glimpse of what Africa is like from many different perspectives.

One of my main responsibilities on the Hills of Africa Travel team is getting to know each of our amazing clients and keeping in touch with them. I am there with the client every step of the way, making sure each and every one of them is well taken care of.

One of my favorite things to do as the Chief Concierge Officer is find distinct gifts for our valued customers. Whether it’s finding that special gift for a client’s birthday, anniversary, or other celebration, I have the chance to shop (and who doesn’t love to shop?!) for the perfect gift that speaks to that client’s unique personality and interests.

Finding a gift that symbolizes our company and passion, and also speaks to the interests of each client is a tall, but highly rewarding order!

I send cards and gifts to our clients for many different reasons: birthdays, anniversaries, trip bookings, referrals, and so much more. Many of our gifts encompass the spirit of Africa and also tie into a client’s unique interests. For example, if I know a client loves beer tasting, I will send them a gift of African crafted beers with a bottle opener and African glassware. Or, if I know of something special that happened on a client’s trip to Africa, I may try to tailor a gift around that particular situation.

I n a nutshell, I enjoy living vicariously through our clients and making them feel special! Hearing about their African safari vacation is always thrilling and knowing they were well cared for while traveling is important to me. Also, letting them know we are still thinking about them, after they have traveled, with cards and gifts, is just another rewarding aspect of what I do!
