africa safari vacationFor many travelers out there, a trip to Africa is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. And for those who plan accordingly, a journey to Africa can change their lives forever. Just ask Suzanne Evans, entrepreneur and former Broadway Theater contributor, who recently worked with Hills of Africa to plan her trip of a lifetime to Africa:

“I’m an entrepreneur, a former school teacher, and I worked seven years in the Broadway Theater industry. I share that with you because I feel like I’ve had lots of opportunities to have life-changing experiences.

But there is one moment in my life and in my journey that really changed everything, and that was an amazing journey to Africa, put together by Hills of Africa Travel.

I’d always wanted to travel to Africa, but it all seemed so overwhelming. Where do I go? How do I put the package together? As a busy entrepreneur and a person who has a big, full life, I wanted the experience but I didn’t want the experience of having to put all the details together. And when I connected with Hills of Africa Travel, I had no idea that they would not just put together an amazing vacation, but that they would put together a life-altering opportunity and experience–and that’s exactly what happened.

Not only did I have the vacation of a lifetime, but I was also able to come back and implement in my business and in my philanthropic activities, giving women and girls in Zimbabwethe opportunity for education and entrepreneurship and an equal chance. It really was one of those life-altering moments.

Hills of Africa does everything, from the tiniest details of the trip itinerary to the surprises along the way. They don’t just give you a vacation, they give you a life-changing experience. And so to them, I am forever grateful and I really hope that you have not only the same experience that I had, which I know you will if you use Hills of Africa, but I hope you have an experience that alters the course of your life, because after Africa, nothing has ever been the same.” – Suzanne Evans

So what are the secrets to creating African safari vacation itineraries that change the courses of our clients’ lives? Here are just a few of our secrets:

Touch on all five of the senses: Africa’s world-famous beauty isn’t only seen, it’s also heard, smelled, and tasted. From the visual beauty of the landscapes, wildlife, people, and architecture to the flavors of traditional cuisine, and the smell of the intoxicating wildflowers, to the whispers of the wilderness Africa’s beauty is not confined to visual aesthetics alone, but rather an orchestra of stimuli. We pay close attention to detail when planning a client’s itinerary to ensure that they are able to experience Africa in its most concentrated form: through all five of the senses.

Place surprises along the way: We love spoiling our clients with surprises during their trip to Africa! From rose pedals leading up to your room to private dinners beneath the stars, and warm bush baths with champagne to complimentary spa treatments, we love making clients feel special and at home in Africa.

Utilize the best safari guides possible: A guide can make or break your African safari vacation. It is our mission to ensure that each client leaves with not only a deep insight into the wildlife, cultures, and history of the country they are visiting, but that they also leave with excitement in their heart and a newfound friend, their guide. All of the guides who we work with are native to Africa and have extensive experience as African safari guides. They know where to take you for the most magical safari experiences and how to tailor them to your desires and interests.

Ask questions: During the initial safari itinerary creation process, we ask our client detailed questions that will help us craft an itinerary that speaks to their exact needs and desires. For example, if a client is interested in a day of cultural activities, we’ll incorporate a visit to a local school or orphanage into their itinerary, as well as city and village tours. For clients interested in a focus on cuisine, we might set up a culinary class and tour in Cape Town, as well as a culinary and wine tasting tour through South Africa’s Cape Winelands. The opportunities are endless.
