I arrived at Three Boutique Hotel after a long 24 hours of traveling from Charlotte, North Carolina to Cape Town, South Africa. As soon as I arrived, Tarryn, one of Three Boutique Hotel’s gracious hosts, greeted me and was wonderful at making me feel right at home.

The owners of this luxury Cape Town hotel, Justin and his wife Natalia, were working on cruise ships for a long time and their dream was to own a hotel. They bought Three Boutique, a National Monument, and have transformed it into a gorgeous 15-bedroom boutique Cape Town hotel.

Being late at night, I didn’t get to see very much and boy was I happy when I woke up in the morning. The house is the home of the last Commandant of the Cape Castle in the 1770s – I can only imagine his view in the 1770s – how beautiful.

Three Boutique is set on a quiet, residential street, very close to Kloof Street and Long Street, which feature lots of wonderful restaurants and bars. The hotel has lots of character and charm, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable with all the amenities of a six-star hotel.

Although the rooms do not have a view of Table Mountain, if you walk up the stairs to the roof deck you have the most magnificent view of the three mountains. It’s a gorgeous place to spend a few hours reading, journaling, sipping on a glass of wine, or just enjoying the view.

The hotel offers an honesty bar, which means you write down your name and what you took from the bar (i.e. glass of wine, soda, etc.). The breakfasts are phenomenal and I highly recommend the poached eggs with smoked trout, or you could enjoy a choice of cereals, hot oatmeal, cheeses, breads, and a choice of hot breakfast from the menu.

Three Boutique Hotel offers exceptional service and attention to detail, making you feel a part of their family.

Tip: They have a shuttle service with Fana as the driver. He’s a very knowledgeable man and will take you all over Cape Town and to / from restaurants.
