Tintswalo Family Grows By 2

by Sandy Salle on October 30, 2018

One of the many reasons that our clients stay at Tintswalo Safari Lodge is that the entire staff makes you feel like family, that you are enjoying your home away from home.   From the moment you arrive, you are treated as if you are part of an ever expanding family.  You are greeted with cool cloths to wash away the dust and once you enter the front door, all your worries are left behind.

The first thing that you notice as you move toward the large back deck is that the elephants are right there — feet away from you.  They enjoy the water pipe hung from a tree and the young males decide who gets to be right under the water pipe at any given time.  I could sit there and watch for hours.  The good news is that we ate breakfast and lunch on the outside deck and watched them the whole time.

The game drives are some of the best in the Manyeleti Private Game Reserve, nestled between the un-fenced boundaries of the Kruger National Park, the Timbavati, and Sabi Sands. This South African reserve abounds in big five game and spectacular bird life. The area is unique in that it offers a true and incredibly exclusive safari experience — we didn’t see another vehicle the entire time we were out.

One of the ways we like to spoil our clients is with delightful surprises such as a private candlelit dinner in the lodge’s wine cellar.  We were hosted in this magical location for our dinner that night — a 5 course delight with even better conversation.  This is the magic of Tintswalo.

The day has finally arrived to announce their 2 new properties, Tintswalo at Lapalala and Tintswalo at Boulders Boutique Villa. Having both received extensive upgrades and that special Tintswalo “magic touch”, we’re delighted that these properties have joined the Tintswalo family of properties and can’t wait to see who will be their first guests.

Tintswalo at Lapalala Wilderness is a family-friendly tented camp which offers six luxury tents with en-suite bathrooms, private plunge pools and views overlooking the rolling mountains and plains of South Africa’s malaria-free Waterberg region.  Tintswalo at Lapalala Wilderness continues their legacy of nature preservation by remaining environmentally conscious and completely off the grid. Sharing the reserve with only one other commercial lodge, guests of Tintswalo at Lapalala Wilderness are welcomed to engage with the environmental activities of the Lapalala Wilderness Reserve by visiting the breeding projects, participating in the school program, visiting the nearby Rhino Museum, or by enjoying peaceful hours of fishing on one of the reserve’s many rivulets and deep, still pools.  Sounds inviting, right?

Also, joining the family is Tintswalo at Boulders Boutique Villa in Cape Town. Can you imagine having an  unobstructed views across Boulders Beach and its internationally famous colony of endangered African penguins?  The Boulders Villa has nine suites and a children’s suite as well as a private villa. The private villa offers five luxury suites and one children’s suite, making it a delightful seaside getaway for the whole family, or a group of ten. The additional four suites accommodate couples in luxury, with magnificent ocean views and en-suite bathrooms.   Known for its pristine swimming beaches and with the colony of penguins as star attraction, the North-facing Tintswalo at Boulders is located on route to Cape Point, enjoying sublime views of the Indian Ocean.  Can you imagine waking up to that view during your holiday?

So whether it is the Tintswalo Safari Lodge or either of their new properties — Lapalala Wilderness or Boulders Boutique Villa — just know that you will be treated like family, albeit royal family actually.
