African Family Safari Vacations:
Take Your Family on the Trip of a Lifetime
If you dream about giving your family the invaluable gift of personal growth and cultural expansion, then an Africa safari vacation is calling you.
A family safari vacation offers the chance to explore the magic of Africa and bond in one of the most spectacular places on earth. From the Big Five and diverse wildlife to the spectacular scenery and friendly people, the rich experience of Africa cannot be found anywhere else in the world.
Much of our focus is on planning a sustainable safari, which gives back to every community you visit. During your African safari, your family will see firsthand the benefits sustainable tourism gives to communities, their people, and their economies.
Sustainable Africa Family Safaris Are Our Specialty
While many lodges have age requirements, child-friendly camps offer activities for the entire family. Parents can relax while children participate in bush treasure hunts and bead-making classes and listen to bedtime stories from traditional African storytellers.
As your personal travel agents for African safaris, we have a wealth of ideas for child-friendly family safaris. Not only do we send many families on vacation each year, but we also travel throughout Africa with our own children.
We work closely with your family to create the perfect itinerary for your Africa safari vacation. Your family’s specific interests, budget, time constraints, and other needs will direct the itinerary to give you a customized African safari you’ll never forget.
Make a Difference While You Travel: Voluntourism
You may find that you want more than just a luxury Africa family safari—there are opportunities to give back by volunteering, and the need for volunteers is great. Voluntourism combines volunteerism and tourism for a truly enriching, fulfilling experience. Volunteering in Africa gives you a unique chance for self-discovery and giving back.
Many of our clients combine their luxury family safari with volunteering, and one of our favorite volunteerism providers is African Impact. Their opportunities and projects allow travelers to explore a world and lifestyle that is both enriching and powerful in its spiritual impact.

Magical Africa Fun for Kids
Whether you choose a Botswana family safari or a Zimbabwe family safari, child-friendly camps provide plenty of entertainment and fun for children of all ages. For example, at Olarro Lodge in Kenya, the Olarro Juniors Adventurers Club (OJAC), for children 6-years-old and up, features a certified local Maasai guide who introduces the kids to the African bush and the Maasai culture with . . .
Animal tracking techniques: Kids become junior Maasai detectives as they listen for animal calls, search for animal tracks, and discover the hidden treasures of the bush.
Survival techniques used in traditional Maasai culture: From constructing a shelter to building a fire from natural resources found in the bush, children experience the legendary lifestyle of the Maasai people.
Plants used for medicinal purposes: Kids learn about plants and their practical uses from the toothbrush tree to the wet wipe tree and the disinfectant shrub to the chewing gum tree.
Environmentally conscious practices: Kids discover environmentally friendly practices and learn how these habits affect nature and the circle of life.
After a day of adventure, excitement, and a bit of exercise, kids go back to Olarro Lodge for a tasty dinner from the kids menu. Then they’re off to bed to recharge for the next day’s activities—leaving you to enjoy a delicious dinner and stunning African sunset.
At the end of your stay at Olarro, kids who participate in the OJAC receive a ceremonial presentation of their diploma, which they can bring back home as a valuable keepsake of their Kenya safari adventure. |
