Katavi National Park

Katavi is Tanzania’s most remote and largest national park, covering over 2,500 square miles and surrounded by game and forest reserves.

With thousands of buffalo, elephants, and zebra, and more than 200 lions, Katavi National Park is one of Africa’s most appealing retreats for travelers on an African safari vacation. And because the area’s remoteness, Katavi is for the true explorer and Africa connoisseur.

The Park is defined by two major landscapes: the valley floor and the two escarpments that border it. The valley floor is mostly flat woodland savannah, dissected by rivers, floodplains, and shallow seasonal lakes. The escarpments vary from sheer cliffs to inselbergs and mountainous areas.
